Jesus Affirms His Deity

Brother Ken's Message on May 31, 2009.

Lk 6:1 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and his disciples began to pick some heads of grain, rub them in their hands and eat the kernels.
Lk 6:2 Some of the Pharisees asked, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”
Lk 6:3 Jesus answered them, “Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry?
Lk 6:4 He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.”
Lk 6:5 Then Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
Lk 6:6 On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled.
Lk 6:7 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath.
Lk 6:8 But Jesus knew what they were thinking and said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Get up and stand in front of everyone.” So he got up and stood there.
Lk 6:9 Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?”
Lk 6:10 He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored.
Lk 6:11 But they were furious and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.

JESUS PROVES HE IS GOD!

The Message Brother Ken Wilson delivered on May 3.

MAIN SCRIPTURE: Luke 5:17-26

Lk 5:17 One day as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law, who had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick.
Lk 5:18 Some men came carrying a paralytic on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus.
Lk 5:19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
Lk 5:20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
Lk 5:21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
Lk 5:22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts?
Lk 5:23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
Lk 5:24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . .” He said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”
Lk 5:25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God.
Lk 5:26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”

Cleansing A Leper

Brother Ken's message for April 26, 2009.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE = LUKE 5:12
Lk 5:12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
Lk 5:13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
Lk 5:14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
Lk 5:15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses.
Lk 5:16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

The Lord's Supper

The Message Brother Ken Wilson delivered on April 19, 2009.

MAIN SCRIPTURE USED AND REFERENCE
1 Corinthians 11:23-26

1Co 11:23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
1Co 11:24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
1Co 11:25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
1Co 11:26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

JESUS......TEMPTED???

The Message Brother Ken Wilson delivered on February 8, 2009.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE

LUKE 4 : 1 - 13

Lk 4:1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert,
Lk 4:2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
Lk 4:3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
Lk 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone.’
Lk 4:5 The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world.
Lk 4:6 And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.
Lk 4:7 So if you worship me, it will all be yours.”
Lk 4:8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’
Lk 4:9 The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here.
Lk 4:10 For it is written: “ ‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully;
Lk 4:11 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’
Lk 4:12 Jesus answered, “It says: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’”
Lk 4:13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

JOHN'S MINISTRY PURPOSE

The message Brother Ken Wilson delivered on January 18, 2009.

MAIN SCRIPTURE REFERENCE
LUKE 3:1-20

John the Baptist Prepares the Way

Lk 3:1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene—
Lk 3:2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert.
Lk 3:3 He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
Lk 3:4 As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: "A voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.
Lk 3:5 Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.
Lk 3:6 And all mankind will see God’s salvation."
Lk 3:7 John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
Lk 3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.
Lk 3:9 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”
Lk 3:10 “What should we do then?” the crowd asked.
Lk 3:11 John answered, “The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same.”
Lk 3:12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”
Lk 3:13 “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them.
Lk 3:14 Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely —be content with your pay.”
Lk 3:15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John y might possibly be the Christ.
Lk 3:16 John answered them all, “I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Lk 3:17 His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Lk 3:18 And with many other words John exhorted the people and preached the good news to them.
Lk 3:19 But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and all the other evil things he had done,
Lk 3:20 Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.

I WANT TO WIN

Brother Ken Wilson's message "I WANT TO WIN". This message was given on January 11, 2009.

Philippians 3:13-16

Phil 3:12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, l but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
Phil 3:13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
Phil 3:14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Phil 3:15 All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.
Phil 3:16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
